Did you know nutrition is not as complicated as we are lead to believe?! Let me break it down for you...
YES! You CAN get it all from plants! Protein is the most important nutrient for your body. This is most likely why MEAT is held to such high acclaim: meat is predominantly protein. However, consumption of animal protein, at the rate we are currently consuming it, is associated with increase risk of numerous chronic diseases. Plant based protein on the hand can actually help lower your risk for chronic disease. It can also help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight, reduce inflammation and balance your internal pH. YES! Plant based foods are the ONLY source of fiber. At the moment the western world is experiencing a fiber famine. The push to have animal protein make up the bulk of our meals means we just are not getting enough fiber in our diets! Fiber is not a very glamorous nutrient but it is vital to our overall health and wellness. Fiber helps our bodies eliminate toxins, waste, fat and cholesterol particles out of our system. By doing so, fiber improves our heart health, makes us feel full, and, of course, helps with digestion and detoxification. We NEED fiber and, wouldn't you know it, it comes from PLANTS!

YES! Plants are stuffed full Vitamins and Minerals and they provide the most healthy and bio available source. Meeting the daily requirement for vitamins and minerals is not about food quantity but rather food quality. You can easily meet your daily vitamin and mineral requirements by making sure your daily calorie intake comes from eating a wide variety of unrefined whole foods.
